Introduction: What Is the Mock One Hammock?

The company claims the Mock ONE Hammock from the Republic of Durable Goods to be the world’s smallest and most free-standing hammock that is portable and easy to use.

It’s made to be small and light. It is quick and simple to set up, and can be used wherever you think of. One of the easiest locations to set up hammocks is during your next camping excursion!

Mock One Hammock

I am a huge fan of lying on a hammock. LOVE IT. From all the products I’ve bought over the many years, my ENO Doublenest hammock is without doubt one of my top choices. I have it in my car wherever I go, and make use of it at every opportunity. There’s just one issue… 90 percent of the places I visit don’t have trees to attach to.

In the past, I’ve worked to work around this problem with a few clever ideas; I’ve attached mounting clips onto the bed of my pickup truck, tried to put it up on pavilions and even looked into the ridiculously long straps for mounting (not an excellent idea). The result of all of this is the reason I was ecstatic when I came upon a Republic of Durable goods Mock One Hammock.

Simply put it this way, Mock ONE is a hammock that Mock ONE claims to deliver the feeling of a hammock with a tree, regardless of whether trees are present. It achieves this by using the power of a new fold-out frame that claims to be extremely sturdy and incredibly comfortable. It is the perfect solution for large open spaces and parts of my backyard where no tree is visible. Does it live up to the advertising?

Mock One Hammock Setup and Assembly

There’s a lot of stuff to take out when you purchase this Mock One Hammock… It’s directly. I reached with one of the “Chill Master” parcels, which is why the Mock ONE kit arrived with the hammock as well as the sun shade. It’s so full of great things to do that it’s difficult to comprehend initially!

After you’ve unzipped the bag and found the Mock One Folding Hammock, setting up is easy enough. Remove the strap from the frame, then expand the frame’s legs, connect the polls and attach the hammock to the two bars, which attach to the ends.

The entire process took me about three or four minutes to go through initially (I’m notorious for not following directions); however, after putting it up a few times, it’s now just a few minutes. It also appears to be fitting together a bit more easily after having been broken a few times.

Mock One Hammock

It’s packing similar fashion, however, it’s done in reverse. Accessories like the quilt top and under quilt are easy to put on the quilt, but your (awesome) mosquito net took me around 10-15 minutes before I got the hang of it.

Let’s not get too involved in setting in place… Let’s discuss how this boy is feeling!

Performance and User Experience

The first time I put my Mock One Hammock together for the first time, honestly, I was a bit sceptical when I first saw it. The Mock One Portable Hammock appears very tight, and I was apprehensive that the length of the poles would create a tricky balance every time I attempted to lie down on it. The Hammock mock one, however, is awesome.

Mock One Hammock

In order to enter, just lie down on the color fabric that is in the middle of the Mock One Folding Hammock (much like you’d go into any ENO-style hammock). From there, one can either pull it upwards and backwards like chairs, or whirl your legs until you reach either end, and then stretch out in all the glory of your magnificent body.

The built-in pillows are fantastic, and I was amazed by how squishy this felt. With the absence of a moving motion, it feels like a comfortable tree-mounted hammock.

Although I was initially apprehensive regarding being concerned about the Portable Hammock mock one requiring a very particular focus on the center of my body, I found it actually quite robust in the real world, thanks to its wide feet. In reality, the only time I’ve felt uneasy in it was when my 6-year-old was able to jump in and jump out of thin air.

I also like the built-in pockets on every side (perfect for smartphones and paperbacks), as well as the basket underneath it and the cup holders on both sides (amazing).

Mock One Hammock Accessories

One reason that many buyers love The The main reason that many buyers love the Mock One Hammock accessories is that they help make the hammock more practical in various outdoor and weather conditions.

Common accessories are:

  • Mock One Hammock mosquito net
  • Sun shade
  • Waterproof Tarp
  • Top quilt
  • Under quilt
  • Carry bag
  • Pillow
  • Baskets for storage
Mock One Hammock

This Mock One Hammock is ideal for campers because it provides complete coverage and helps keep bugs at bay while you rest or sleep in the open air.

Flexibility

One of the main reasons to choose the hammock of this type is that they’re flexible when they’re not surrounded by trees. Although the Mock One Hammock does not feel as solid as ENO stand (which is why I’m comparing it to ENO stand, more on this later), it can handle level-ish ground without issues and takes a shorter time to put up.

I love the way that the ENO stand lets hammocks move, but when seeking a quick read in the backyard, I’ve been using this Mock One more and more. It’s just as powerful as the Nomad, with a lesser production (and the space needed!) to install it.

Here are some images of comparisons for those who are on the lookout for a new vehicle and want to know both…

Build Quality

If there’s a single area in which I have a few reservations regarding this Mock One compact Freestanding Hammock, it’s with the quality of the construction.

READ Useful  Ridgerunner Hammock Review: Best Hammock for Camping?

Although everything appears to be of high-end quality, the heavy metal used and the coating on it seem to indicate that it could wear away at a few connections as time passes (compared to the more smooth aluminum materials found on other camping equipment of a higher quality, such as that stand called the Nomad).

Mock One Hammock

It’s rock solid in the present; however, it is very well-integrated (especially after it’s broken after only a couple of uses). With a life-long warranty to back it up, it’s difficult to come up with anything to be concerned about.

Affordability

The affordability is another area where the Mock One Free Standing Hammock really shines as an easy-to-use hammock/stand. If you purchase an ENO Nomad and a Doublenest hammock (the only comparable option I’ve found), you’ll be looking at the equivalent of $325.

However, the Mock One Hammock costs just $175, and you can buy two Mock One Hammock for the same amount (the identical cost if you purchase any of the bundles that come in two packs).

Mock One Hammock Weight Limit

According to the advertisement, the mock Hammock capacity is 250 pounds. It’s designed for one person only, not two people sharing the hammock.

It is suitable for teenagers, adults or even a person who wants to relax with a pet; however, it shouldn’t exceed the specified limit.

Before you buy, check what comes with the hammock:

Five reasons to bring your Mock ONE Hammock on your next camping excursion

Although I am a fan of traditional hammocks and it’s hard to beat their affordability, simplicity and smaller size, if searching for something more advanced to take camping, the Mock One Hammock might be the right choice for you.

Here are five good reasons why an Mock Hammock is a must. A hammock could be the perfect item to bring when you go camping:

1. No trees or a large footprint are required.

It is a simple setup. Mock ONE Hammock only needs a floor space that is large enough for a doormat to sit on. Therefore, it’s simple to locate a tiny piece of level ground for setting the hammock. There aren’t any posts, trees or 5 feet or more of ground to put it. Additionally, setting up is only 60 seconds (yep, we tallied it to confirm this assertion! ).

You can also set it up very easily in a compact space, like on the side of a flatbed truck.

Mock One Hammock

2. Make sure your drinks and other accessories are neat and away from the ground

It is a great hammock to use for camping. Mock One Folding Hammock comes with an underbasket that’s elevated off the ground. It is the place to store any items you need to store or access them from your hammock without even having to step off your hammock to access them.

I am able to reach larger objects while lying in a hammock. Items that drop to the bottom may be more difficult for me to get at, yet they are doable, especially since it is the Mock One Hammock is pretty stable, which means you’re not at risk of a chance of falling out of the hammock if you attempt to climb underneath it.

Mock One Hammock

3. It is comfortable and simple to get into and out of

Each side of the Mock One Folding Hammock has a padding area that is cushioned so that you can put one on your head, and another for your feet or the back of your legs.

There’s also an extra pillow available that is specifically designed to be used alongside the hammock. You can also bring your personal pillows for travel or your puffy jacket.

As opposed to a traditional hammock, the Mock One Hammock is easy to access and exit from.

I am 5ft4 tall and lie down in it and then sit back comfortably without having to worry about flipping or swinging out of it.

This can be beneficial and could be beneficial to someone with impaired mobility, who may have difficulty swinging a full-swinging hammock.

Mock One Hammock

4. An extensive range of extras that fit your campsite and the environment.

An array of bonuses is known, like bedding, the waterproof tarp and bug nets. If you are planning to remain in your hammock all night long or to spend your time in a location where bugs could be a risk, a bug net is an extra necessity!

Its Mock ONE Hammock connects straight to your hammock. It is created to keep out of your body so that you do not have the problem where your limb is positioned against the net and is torn by mosquitoes (don’t claim that it has never happened to you before). It also offers 360-degree coverage to ensure that you don’t have insects snatching up from under your hammock.

If you’re looking for more privacy or protection from rain in addition to the bug net, you can also buy the specially-designed tarp known as the Happiness Tarp, which could be useful if you’re in bed for the night.

Mock One Hammock

5. Small and simple to disassemble and assemble

Without getting too technical, the Mock One Hammock pretty much just collapses from its compact, stowed shape into its completed shape.

The poles are folded out, and then the hammock is attached to either end. Voila! A hammock.

This makes it easier to set up than other alternatives that aren’t standalone, which is essentially the same as setting up a camp chair, but much more relaxing .) It also reaches with a carry strap, which is ideal for those who have to stroll from their car to the campsite; it’s easy to carry.

Mock One Hammock

Conclusion

Since Mock One Hammock is in my life, it’s difficult to imagine a car excursion or camping trip without it. It’s incredibly easy to set up, and it’s great having a portable hammock option that I can carry everywhere (even in the absence of a tree to be seen).

If they ever release an ultralight variant, it’ll immediately dominate the market. The Mock One Compact Folding Hammock that everyone should think about including in their outdoor collection.

FAQ About

The fabric for the hammock is a nylon material that allows it to be easily cleaned and maintained. The frame is constructed of steel.

Mock ONE Hammock is designed to be used in dry weather and under the optional tarpaulin; it's not meant to be kept out or in extremely humid conditions. This could cause rust to the frame of the steel.

The advertised weight limit is 250lb, so depending on your size and weight you could fit yourself and a dog, but not designed, size or weight-capacity-wise, for more than one person to share.

The Republic of Durable Goods' website demonstrates what the Mock ONE Hammock looks like with different heights of people who wear it.

It's designed to be used by individuals up to 6 ft 4 in tall. We are 5ft4 and 5ft8 which means we can sit comfortably in the hammock, with our feet sticking out at the end.
