For more than 25 years, LA SIESTA has taken great pride in making the most comfortable hammocks and swing chairs available in a wide range of shapes, colors, and materials. These include outdoor, indoor, and organic cotton hammocks.
This La Siesta Brisa double hammock features a gathered end made of nylon parachute fabric. It is made with dimensions similar to the ENO double and is constructed from the same slightly glistening, slightly crinkly parachutist nylon used in the ENO and the Grand Trunk.
The double size is available. The colors will be chocolate brown at the center of the La Siesta hammock. You can also choose trendy turquoise, orange, fuchsia, lime, or orange on the two outer panels. The panels have triple stitching, as with the ENO, and are stitched like the ENO and Grand Trunk—the seams.
On one end of the La Siesta Domingo hammock, there are 4 tabs along the left and right seams. These tabs are intended to anchor the la siesta hammock down by using something as a blanket for the beach.
It’s not the most comfortable, as these tabs are located on triple-stitched seams only a couple of inches from the edge of the la siesta hammocks, rather than on the edge as you would expect. But for hammocking, coupled with a piece of string, I discovered that these tabs helped keep my throw blanket/TQ my pillow from sliding off completely during an afternoon nap.
Since the TQ tends to slide towards the legs and off the other edge of the hammock, I tacked a little bit of kitchen twine around the edge of the throw and tied the other end underneath it to attach one tab.
How to Hang a La Siesta Hammock
The hanging process in a hammock is easy due to its user-friendly suspension system. Its La Siesta Colibri travel hammock includes German-designed nylon ropes and hooks, which make setup easy and knot-free.
Pick two strong anchor points, such as tree posts, trees, or an upright–and then hang the la siesta hammock in a manner that has a slight curve to make it more comfortable. The labels in the attached picture provide instructions for connecting to the suspension and adjusting the height, making it great for beginners.
The hook-and-loop system makes it easy to adjust height without knots. Be sure the La Siesta Alabama hammock is low enough to sit comfortably in, but not touching the ground when in use. For backyard use, home use, or even informal Camping, the standard suspension is good, but it is a bit heavy for a backpack.

There aren’t any knots to tie or learn.
Attached to every hammock bag is a collection of labels (like the ones on mattresses) that are printed with Ikea-like pictograms, which reveal the most useful things to hang on, the most suitable method to connect the suspension to the hammock, and how to attach the suspension to the objects you like to hang it from.
Although the design isn’t a simple series of overhand knots on a rope tied with a carabiner, as with the Grand Trunk, it is infinitely more relaxed in terms of size increments. But the suspension system is incredibly heavy (just under 1 lb on an analog scale).
If you are planning to travel or camp, I would suggest replacing this suspension system with lighter, eco-friendly options. If you are planning to glamp or have a more permanent installation at home, I would recommend keeping this setup.
Drawstring Pouch and Packing Issue
My biggest complaint about this item is that the drawstring bag it is packaged in is smaller than the La Siesta hammock, making it difficult to roll it back the way it normally does. To fit the hammock inside the pouch it came with, you need to use the stuffing method.
If there were no attachments to the hammock, it would be fine; however, once you add an RL or any number of other modifications, the amount of pushing and stuffing can reach a point where it can damage the fabric.
The irony here is that the bag functions exactly like the ENO bag except for the webbing and buckles, but in this instance, it appears to be to the advantage of. The bag on the ENO is affixed, while the bag on this is completely separate from the hammock. When I received the La Siesta Brisa hammock, everything except its suspension mechanism was in the bag. It was as if it were an unfinished brick, and required a little effort to get everything out. I’m highly skilled at packaging, and if I’m unhappy, others likely will be as well.

The La Siesta Hammock is also known as a heavyweight cotton hammock; it lasts longer than any other cotton canvas hammock I’ve tried. However, they can extend out when used every night. I was able to get two years of continuous use at night before ruts started to become unacceptable.
I switched to a camping-style nylon, specifically 12 Hexon 1.6. I was pleasantly adjusting to the smoother, noisier feel. They stay in shape for an extended period, feel fantastic, and are simple to clean.
